Losing My Focus With So Many Ideas

So many ideas...Plenty of time...except not enough.

I like to get inspiration from online sites such as Pinterest. This starts out basic enough and quickly turns into a rabbit hole. I now have so many ideas that I will not be able to complete them in my lifetime.

While this type of scrolling brings up pretty much anything I can imagine, there are too many options, and not enough time to try them all. When I am in the rabbit hole, I feel capable and itching to try it all.

Recently I participated in a Vendor Fair. The saving detail for me was the fact that the ones in charge asked me to keep it to leather items and a limited variety. This kept my insanely chaotic mind in check. Since this experience, I have continued to come back to that simple request...leather and limited.

I can hardly keep up with my thoughts once they start turning. I now am looking for a full wall calendar that I can visually see every month of the year. Now, that should be pretty simple...go online and find one. Well, first I searched Google. Then I turned to images. Then I punched in key words in Pinterest.....oh no...there are so many! Now I am looking at small ones, medium ones, big ones, DIY ones, digital ones. And then...my helpful mind says to itself "I already have a calendar and can make it into a full year at a glance". Here we go again.

So, I went on my way and found the calendar I knew I had and it wasn't being used. I took the spiral binding out and started to lay out the pages to see how large of a space I need. Now, this didn't work so well, so I thought to myself, "just start putting it up." So, of course I found the closest thing to me to start hanging them....double sided sticky dots. All was well and with a little adjusting, it seemed as if it would work great! It did, until I walked away and came back later. Most of my pages were on the floor. The sticky dots didn't hold most of the pages. I see now that I didn't make sure the dots were sticking to the wall...they were just stuck to the page above it. This means that all the pages below the first row were being held up by the first row. The dots weren't made for the weight of 4 pages of heavy duty card stock to hang.

Alas, the pages are still sitting there on the floor...in a mess. I still don't have a full year wall calendar and I have too many other ideas and have moved on. One day in the future, I will of course have to tidy the chaos and try again. I will probably search Pinterest again. Then I will have more ideas to add to my already overflowing boards. Maybe they have ideas for limited leather calendars!

Until next time,
